Commemorating Tisha B’av and the Destruction of the Holy Temples in Jerusalem

July 31, 8:30-10pm

Join Or Shalom and the Chanting & Chocolate band in an evening of sacred Jewish chant, readings from the Book of Lamentations, and teachings from Rabbi Hannah Dresner and Reb Laura Duhan Kaplan.

Chanting & Chocolate

Chanting & Chocolate is an evening of wordless melody, sacred Jewish chant, followed by chocolate treats.

On the last Sunday of each month, 7:30-9:00pm, the Chanting & Chocolate Band guides us through an evening of uplifting chanting that brings clarity to the mind and expansiveness to the heart. The evening is dedicated to offering sacred Hebrew chanting as a form of meditation and ecstatic prayer on the path of the heart.

No prior knowledge of singing, chanting or Hebrew language is required. Lyric sheets are provided. All are welcome!

Donations accepted at the door (suggested $10) and all proceeds will go to support the education of Abayudaya orphans in Uganda.

Come for the chanting, stay for the home-baked triple-chocolate brownies!

Each Chanting and Chocolate has a different theme, but Sufi whirling was very popular so we hope to offer it again some time in the future.
