The renewed retreat committee wants to shake things up! We are considering the following:
* A shorter retreat to reduce costs and make it more affordable for families.
* Possibly moving to the weekend of May 27-29, when our preferred guests are available.
WE WANT YOUR INPUT TO HELP US MAKE DECISIONS ABOUT THE 2016 RETREAT. PLEASE COMPLETE THE SURVEY ASAP AND LET US KNOW YOUR PREFERENCES.
Survey closes Friday Jan 15 noon. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/65BKZPS
For your information:
* Camp Hope has the most reasonable options and is still our venue of choice.
* The program fee covers all the retreat costs (guest rabbi, counsellors, etc) over and above the room and board costs (which are charged directly by Camp Hope).
A renewed funraising/fundraising tradition of gathering with other Or Shalomniks around a shared meal. Why go to a restaurant? Instead donate the equivalent of a good meal out towards Or Shalom, and your hosts will provide you with a wonderful meal and shared experience, while you enjoy building our community. A great chance to get to know more people in our community.
We are pleased to invite you to an evening of wining, dining, kibitzing and getting to know one another in new and informal ways. Your hosts will welcome you for unique dinners in their homes, in order to raise funds for the good work of our community.

On December 10, Or Shalom Syrian Refugee Initiative held an evening of Support, Information, and Action: What can you do to help?
About 200 people attended, celebrated Human Rights Day, heard updates on the current state of affairs for refugees coming to Canada, listened to Syrian music and enjoy a nosh.
During Hanukkah a donor matching program doubled each donation to the Or Shalom OSSRI.
