Burning the 8th Night Oil

December 5, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm

As Chanukah crescendos and closes with the lighting of the eighth candle on Dec. 5, it’s only natural for us to gather at the Bayit, as a community, to joyfully raise that light and let it shine into the world. It’s dark out there so let’s all have some in-person fun! To do just that, Or Shalom has planned an all-ages musical celebration featuring Jewish folk band Sulam. There will be a guided instrument-making activity for the wee ones, an interactive, musical storytelling session to follow, community Chanukah candle lighting, and once the kids collect their last-night-of-Chanukah swag bags and head happily home, Sulam will perform a second adults-focused show. Come for one leg of the journey or all!

Here’s the plan:

4-4:45 – Kids’ instrument making
5-5:30 – Kids’ Sulam concert
5:30-5:45 – Community candle lighting + swag bags
5:45-6:30 – Adults-focused Sulam show

Pay what you can. Suggested donation: $7 per individual, $10 per family. No one is turned away for lack of funds.
