Or Shalom Covid-19 Guidelines

Updated 10-19-2021

Covid guidelines are subject to change as the BC Centre for Disease Control and the Or Shalom Covid Advisory Committee stay up to date with the safety protocols as they evolve. At this time our recommendations for in-person services are:

  1. To attend Or Shalom services and classes, you must show proof of vaccination, either with the BC Vaccination card or other documentation. For events other than Shabbat or Yom Tov, you can fill out a permission form to allow Or Shalom to keep a record that your vaccination status has been verified so you don’t need to show proof every time.
  2. You must not attend  services if you have symptoms or been near someone with symptoms.
  3. Masks are required at all times unless leading prayers. You agree to stay near your seats and rise in place except when called upon for ceremonies at the Bima, etc.
  4. Because we recognize that these are anxious times for all, we ask that you not come closer than two meters to someone outside your bubble without clear and explicit consent.
  5. Children under 12 are not permitted at services at this time with the exception of  Or Shalom events labelled “Family Friendly” which do include children of all ages. Attending an Or Shalom “Family Friendly” event means that you understand and accept that you may be in proximity to unvaccinated children.
