Fund Descriptions

We have a number of funds you may choose to direct your contribution:

• The Or Shalom Community Fund The Community Fund is our general fund and sustains the programs and operations of Or Shalom
• The Tzedakah Fund Each year the Tikkun Olam committee chooses 4 organizations to support as well as an annual Sox Appeal to help the homeless.
• The Rabbi's Benevolent Fund supports people and projects that face short-term financial hardships
• The Rabbi's Special Program Fund supports innovative new programs that require extra financial support
• The Kauffman Family Musical Guests Fund supports bringing musical performers to Or Shalom
• The Lisa Nemetz Educational Fund is to provide financial assistance to people learning to leyn Torah, lead prayers, or learn and create nigunum (especially but not limited to simchat mitzvah students)
• The Len Ryant Or Shalom Children's Fund is to enrich children's experience during Shabbat, the Or Shalom Retreat, and other times at Or Shalom.
• East Side Fund - Food Gift Card Program Provide gift cards for meals for people in need.
• The Or Shalom Building Maintenance Fund helps maintain, repair and enhance our aging building with funds for capital upgrades, such as roof, lighting, heating wheelchair ramp, security, etc. Donations are added to member's lifetime contribution
• The Or Shalom Annual Campaign sustains Or Shalom by keeping our members up to date, providing a way to communicate about Or Shalom present and future, and provide the financial means that is essential to our growth and sustainability. To make a campaign donation please use our campaign page
